Yes, I know this is an old product, but I've got 6 of them I'm trying to use in limited capacity.

I'm trying to do a simple bridge with a couple ZyXEL B-3000 ZyAirs. One connected to my LAN switch where internet is available, the other connected upstairs to a second switch with a couple of PCs.

I've tried setting them in both AP+Bridge mode and in Bridge/Repeater mode without success. All IPs are statically assigned.

LAN side:
Router (gateway) 192.168.1.1 (My Linksys router)
ZyAir IP: 192.168.1.230
MAC address of remote ZyAir in "Remote Bridge MAC Address" and checked active.
Machines on main LAN can access ZyAir management pages.

Remote side:
Router (gateway) 192.168.1.1
ZyAir IP: 192.168.1.231
MAC address of LAN ZyAir in "Remote Bridge MAC Address" and checked active.
Machines on remote LAN can access ZyAir management pages.

On both ZyAirs, the System Status | Statistics show the bridge link status as "down" with no packets sent or received. The BDG/RPT light never lights except at power up. I have 5 of these devices, and all of them behave in the same fashion. Since all 5 are unlikely to be defective in the same way, I have to assume that I've misconfigured something but I just haven't figured it out. I've looked at the 221 page manual until my eyes swam, but just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

At one point, I was able to access the Web Configurator. However, we ran into a situation where I had to power-cycle the NBG-318s router and the PLA-400 adapter.

After that point, I am unable to connect. I've tried the steps listed in the Appendix of the user manual, but no luck.

Any suggestions?

My ISP has just issued me with a P660HW to replace my failed BT voyager 2100.
I've plugged it in and configured it, connected iit to the internet, all good. My wireless PCs in the home are also connected.
However, I also run an ethernet over the mains wiring system in the home courtesy of two Devolo dLAN Highspeed Ethernet II plugs. Basically I plug a cat5 out of the router into a Devolo which is plugged into the mains. Other end of the house my studio computer has a cat5 into the other devolo, and the two devolos talk via the ringmain.
My probelm is that whilst all computers talk to eachother as they should, sharing files printers, etc, etc, the machine on the Devolo plug will not connect to the internet (despite connecting fine to the other machines on the network!) I can ping websites and get good stats from the studio computer, but just nothing via the browser. As I said, all worked fine with the Voyager. Can't even get the ZyXEL router page up on 192.168.1.1.

Is there something on the 660 to enable it to work with powerline systems?

Any help much appreciated.

I have purchased the Zyxel USG100 and have been unsuccessful in getting it to connect to our ISP.
The ISP service we have is Bell Canada ADSL using PPPoE with a static IP address.
Our old router works fine (Linksys WRT300N), it connects as it should and I have verified the DSL username and password. We have a strong line sync on our DSL as well.
The DHCP service on the router is working fine, all of our workstations are getting internal IP addresses. We can access our file server with no problem.
I have updated the Zyxel to the latest firmware.
The only problem is internet access.

From the log of the last transactions from the Zyxel I get:
The link status of wan1_ppp interface is inactive.

However, just prior to that entry, I get:
Interface wan1_ppp is connected.

The wan1 also shows connected on the Zyxel Interface screen. But when we surf from the workstations, we are not connecting to the internet.

I’m just wondering if you have experienced this type of trouble before and know of an easy remedy. I took the Zyxel to another client of mine that uses PPPoE without a static IP address, and it connected quickly and with no problems, so the Zyxel unit seems to be fine.

Any help would be appreciated,

My new ISP the Post Office is sending me the Zyxel P-660HW-T1v2.

Is the router compatible with Microsoft Xbox 360?
Is the routers NAT port set to open by default?, if not can you please advise how i can do this .

Well, to make it work properly. . .
Work on Web GUI
1. Set Virtual Server (NAT -> Sua Only - > Port Forwarding)
one raw for each service (public and private must be the same in Prestige)
2. Set Firewall WAN to LAN and set at least 2 raws
rule 1 source=your_outside_ip, destination=192.168.1.20, services= (the same you set in the Virtual Server Area), allow
rule 2 source=any, destination=any, services= (any), deny
3. P660 LAN IP must be the gateway for the linux.

Anyway . . . it's safer if you got your_outside_ip as static and linux daemons you use are based upon strong authentication methods and disable all unused listening services.

P660 does not support VPN, so you can add a ZW2 behind or activate a OpenVPN or similar on the server, or a reverse proxy allowing only SSHv2 to the server (all others work inside SSH tunnel).

Oh, yep i manage more then 10.
But, what i meant is: assumed that L2 unmanaged switch does not interfere in L3 traffic, where was the problem?
I meant also, connect access point on Lan2 Iface.
It's unsafe, if you use same switch, but works.

The ports could be on the same L2 interface, but it's a L1 issue specific to the port, i think.

it is. i got some burned ports on working devices.
Anyway, no way to change, but in assistance. This means some weeks without the device.

What is exactly your modem and what firmware are you using?

It seems that you didn't describe your configuring steps in detail.It's hard to find out any you missing.
I think you should set with 2 steps:
1,set the router in WISP mode.
2,view in the wireless LAN>general to configure as a wirless client co-work with your first NBG419N.such as SSID,security mode etc.

I have recently had to purchase a new PLA-401 kit as one of my existing devices failed.

Unfortunately the new devices are PLA-401v2 and I appear to need to upgrade the firmware on my older PLA-401 devices for all devices to work together!

This is where the problem begins. My older PLA-401 devices are currently on version 1-4-1454, and the 3.0.5 firmware upgrade tool keeps failing ("It is not supported for the firmware version of this device") and then stating there are no devices. The devices are listed in the configuration utility and they function on the network, just won't upgrade.

I would try using the configuration utility to do the firmware upgrade if I could get a PIB file, but I can't find one of them either!

Does anyone know how I can get these 2 PLa-401 devices upgraded so the new PLA-401v2 devices will work with them?

I just upgraded our USG300 to 2.12(AQE.0) because the PDF says: "[ENHANCEMENT] Support Mac OS L2TP over IPSec.", but unfortunately it still doesn't work. OS X says "L2TP received invalid message (expected ICRP, received Hello)".

Am I missing something?

I have a Zyxel P-660HW-D1 , and when i am triyng to update de Firmware [downloaded from zyxel's webpage]it show this error " ERROR: FAIL TO UPDATE DUE TO... The uploaded file was not accepted by the router. "

Customers in this area have WinXP, Vista, and Mac OS X. The Zyxel SSL solution is not interesting for customers until it supports all platforms used in SMB market.

I hope one of you out there is able to help me, since user manuals and other posts have been little help so far.

I recently purchased a Zyxel DMA 2500 Media box together with two NWD 270 N Wireless adapters in order to be able to play content from my PC. I followed the instructions and have been able to establish an ad-hoc network between my PC and the Media box using the wireless adapters. At least the wireless adapter status screen shows there is a N connection with excellent link and signal quality. I have also installed the accompanying media server software and shared a folder with about 10 files in it.

However, when I try to access the media on my PC by selecting "My Media" on the Media box, it doesn't get any further than "Searching Server...". I have turned off firewalls, antivirus programs etc on my PC without any result. I do see that the incoming bitrate on the wireless connection is ~26kB/s, but the outgoing stays at 0 kB/s. As a test I connected the Media box using a network cable, and this works just fine.

I am facing problems setting up a VPN connection between a P-661HW-D1 and a P-661HW-D3 routers. The first one use a static WAN address.

Can someone provide me a tutorial of the routers setup settings?

According to the KB, the P661-H-D1 with ras version v3.40(API(0) 07/20/2006 should be upgraded with the file P-661H-D1_340AHH1CO. 31/08/2007. When I link to the downloaded bin file and attempt to install I get the response "file not accepted...". repeated attempts result in the same message.

I have a 660HW-D1 DSL router and I tried to enable and dissable WIFI adapter through the TELNET during nights (wlan active 0 / wlan active 1). I don't know if this is the proper way.

The WIFI adapater is disabled without any problem, but during the night, or when it is enabled in the morning (I don't know), all the network functions of the device get unstable and stop working.

I have the router with the firmware P-660HW-D1_3.40(AGL.4)C0. I cannot use the P-660HW-D1_3.40(AGL.8)C0 because it has problems with port forwarding (NAT). I will test the new released in few weeks (AGL.9), but I would like to know if the telnet commands that I use are right and enough to pull up and down the WLAN interface.
