I am the happy new owner of the Zyxel NSA310. I have 2 questions:

1. Only the orange network light on the back of the box is blinking when in use. I have been taught that connections on the inter- or intranet will flash green, and indeed, there IS a green lamp, but I haven't seen it blink yet. Is this a question og re-thinking or is the box configured incorrectly??

2. I was informed that there was a new firmware version. Cool, I though, faster box and maybe more functions ;=) But my box currently runs firmware 4.50(AFK.1), and the new is 4.51(AFK.0). Instructions on the Zyxel site says clearly to only flash the box with the appropriate firmware, and this, as I understand, is for another box???? Please advise before I brick the box ;=) Flashing the Android phones I have owned have made me weary of flashing too quick....

I´ve bought the NSA325 this week, together with 3TB seagate SV35 (SV3000VX000) http://www.seagate.com/internal-hard-drives/consumer-electronics/sv35/?sku=ST3000VX000

I know that this model is not present in the compatibility list, but I took this risk because I liked the 24/7 workload optimization of this drive. And what more,

there are 3TB seagate drives supported, so what is the difference ?

After the initial volume was created the available space on the disk according to NSA webserver is 1.79 TB and according to NAS starter utility 1832.62 GB.

I assume that the NSA325 dident recognized the full capacity of the drive correctly or purposely omitted the rest of the space and created 2TB partition.

The question is, if it is planned to extend the supported drives with seagate SV35 series or drives with more than 2TB in general?

Is support in this area still provided or it is not intended to actively enlarge the amount of the supported HDDs?

Is here something I can do to solve this?

I have a problem: I want to use 2 wan on my usg-100, but I want use lan1 to connect through wan1 and lan2 to connect through wan2.
It is possible? I've search it but I can't find anything.

I used to login to NSA325 on my ipad mini via zmedia app and i used to be able to download a movie to the ipad and then open it up using AV playerHD where it stored the file. Now though this function doesnt seem to work and all i get is the browser with the url and nothing happens or i get a play button with a line through it like it has failed. Bizarrely though it seemms to download episodes of Arrested development which are small MKV files (movies file were avi's) Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this?

Depends. If your are connected using wifi, or accessing the nas over internet, it can be perfectly normal.
When you are connected using cabled ethernet, you should get about 10MB/sec over 100Mbit/sec ethernet, and 30~40MB/sec over gigabit.

If you are connected using cabled ethernet you might be interested in this.

Received a report from my client, WiFi still connected (indicated on MAC BOOK Wireless icon) but no Internet. I plan to switch the unit with mine to see if this resolves the issue. I'm so tired of this.

And of course I tried to create the partitions with the latest firmware

Good to hear your problem also solved...However, I got all the datecode FW from the company headquarter, not sure who you have company with.
Maybe there are some gaps for it.

Anyhow, good lucks with your testing and should be okay for your testing in Repeater.

I flashed my client's WAP3205 Repeater yesterday was on 1.00(BFR.7)CO. I found the repeater in a very strange state prior to updating. No devices could log into Repeater network SSID (MAC/iPAD said unable to join the network). I logged into the router and did a network scan, the Repeater was no longer visible to the Router (first time I have seen this). So I went ahead and flashed with the code you sent me from DropBox (same one I'm running for two days now in AP mode), and will see if that resolves the issue. If not, I feel there is a hardware problem and I will send it in to ZyXEL for evaluation.

I have lost so many hours with this premise. Tech support recommended 1.00(BFR.5)CO as the most reliable and stable code, but I had the same issue with it (inability to browse the Internet while connected). I hope this fixes the problem, because repeater was in a hosed state when I got there. If I have to send it back, I will have to part with my unit for a while so not to leave my client hanging.

As far as Tech Support contact, it was the San Diego office whom I spoke with. The Tech was very helpful and on the phone for more than an hour, but he apparently did not have access to the same date codes you have graciously provided to me. I will tackle the NBG5715 after I resolve WAP3205. Too bad ZyXEL FTP does not have access to Beta Releases.

Hi First time poster... hoping its just a slight oversight on my part... Just hooked up my hard drive to my Zyxel, installed software, connected to network... running the initialization wizard, it asks me for the username/password. The default is admin/1234, which I try..comes back with "Cannot see NAS, please check your box"? I can find the box/IP address when I search for a NAS but cant get past the login... any help please??!!!

I'm sorry to post this here, I already tried Zyxel Support but I haven't got any answers, not even a confirmation e-mail saying my problem is being analysed. So I'm trying reach out for the community in order to see if anyone has encountered this problem.

My company recently acquired a Zyxel Switch, model GS-1524 and I'm trying to configure it, before it goes to production state. Unfortunately I'm having some problems which I'll describe next.
Here's the configuration scenario in the switch:
- Management IP 192.168.250.107 /24, GW 192.168.250.254.
- 3 VLANs configured (ID's 250, 10 and 11).
- Port 24 of the switch (Ethernet) is member of all three VLANs and tagged, plus the default (ID 1).
- Several ports configured according the VLAN ID I stated before (including their PVID).
- All traffic enters marked as tagged.

Now for the connections:
- If I've a port on the switch configured on the same VLAN as the switch managment (ID 250) I plug a computer there and access the switch "Web Management Interface". Ok here.
- If I've a computer outside the switch (on another switch), configured in the same VLAN as the switch (ID 250), same as before. Ok here.
- All traffic goes in and out of the switch fine, I've confirmed it (using "ping" and "traceroute"). So there's connection. Ok here also.
- If I've a computer outside the switch and using another VLAN (ID 10,11 or any other than 250) I can't connect to the switch "Web Management Interface", not even "ping" it. Not ok here.

Why can't I remote manage the switch, except if I'm on the same VLAN as the switch? Could this be some firmware protection? I've confirmed the switch firmware as the same version as the download page ( 1.12(AYD.0)C0 ). All network connections seems ok too. Am I missing something? I hope anyone can enlight this situation. . .

I just got an nsa 325, I'm really happy with it so far, although I'm not able to get dropbox working with it.

When I attempt to get authentication from the dropbox site I get a message about the app using an old version of the dropbox api.

The nas came with the latest firmware 4.50(AAAJ.1)

Is it just a case of waiting for new firmware or is there another way round this?

Appreciate some feedback on this.

About to give up on new WAP3205. Have it working as a signal repeater, but it constantly drops the signal every 10 minutes or so. I've tried mutiple channels. its only around one corner, and down the hall about 30 feet from a wireless N router. I even tried another router but the problem persists. Any suggestions anyone?

I've done downgrade fw from NSA320_4.50(AFO.1)C1 to NSA320_4.01(AFO.0)C0 and now the system is in loop.
The HDD leds are always on while the system led is always blinking.
How can I solve this issue?

Been trying to get my NSA325 to wake on lan/wan (over the internet). Can't seem to get it to work.. any ideas? Sky router..

Linking Dropbox with my new NSA310.

When I attempt to get authentication from the dropbox site I get a message about the app using an old version of the dropbox api.
The attempt then fails. Dropbox no longer allows this old version of the API to sync with there service any more for new activations.
I believe that from reading NSA325 feedback that tech support are aware of this problem and working on a fix?

Would this be a firmware update, and when would a possible patch be ready?

The nas has now been updated to the latest firmware 4.50(AAAJ.1)
