Hello,

I'm trying to extend my WiFi network with a WAP3205 in Universal Repeater Mode, without success so far, unfortunately. Primary access point is a Zyxel NBG460N. I can connect to the NBG460N in client mode, and I can connect wirelessly to the WAP3205. But the WAP3205 doesn't connect to the NBG460N in Universal Repeater Mode.

NGB460N configuration:
SSID: DontTouchMe
Security Mode: WPA-PSK
Pre-Shared Key: TopSecret
Channel: 06

WAP3205 configuration:
Universal Repeater Parameters:
SSID: DontTouchMe
Security Mode: WPA-PSK
Encryption Type: TKIP
Pre-Shared Key: TopSecret
Wireless Setup:
SSID: ZyXEL
Channel: 06
Security Mode: No Security

I know that the channels must be the same and auto channel selection must be turned off. I know that the SSID is case-sensitive. It still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to figure out how to configure port forwarding from WAN to LAN and am having little success. I feel like there is something that I'm missing or don't understand. For the purpose of this, I am trying to get uTorrent to work on port 4237 on a ZyWall 5. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got the following situation: I'm getting a BW upgrade from my cable-company tomorrow. Just today I found out that they are not just swapping the modem to one which is DOCSIS3 capable, but swap this with a 'Fritzbox' (not shure how well known this is outside of Europe), which integrates the modem with a router, VoIP Application, ...).

I never had a configuration so far where the WAN of my USG would then be a transfer-network to a second router.

My question is: Is this going to cause any issues - especially thinking about NAT and VPN ?

It is the same error for any change in permissions.

I have a USG300 with 1xLAN (192.168.1.1), 1xWAN, 1xDMZ and 5xVPN's.
The VPN's are all IPSec from the USG300 to remote Zyxel's 661H-D1 routers.
Current ethernet ports are: ge1 LAN; ge2 WAN; ge4 DMZ (wifi AP).
This WAN should only deal with the VPN's and the DMZ traffic.

I have another WAN router/connection inside the same LAN (192.168.1.5, the default gateway for this lan) that handles browsing and email that I would like to integrate in the USG 300.
I configured available ethernet port ge5 to 192.168.1.5 and ethernet port ge3 to the second WAN.
Added the following policy routes:
- when incoming through ge1 (192.168.1.1) then route trough ppp0 (first WAN, located on ge2)
- when incoming through ge5 (192.168.1.5) then route trough ppp1 (second WAN, located on ge3)

Also added a trunk to separate traffic from both WAN's and don't do the default load balance.

My question is: when I turn on the second WAN (enable ge5, for that matter) all the VPN's go down!!!
At first they seem to maintain but within seconds to one minute, they are all down.
If I disable ge5, the VPN's go up.
Any thoughts on that?

but this does not solve the problem, how do I explain my problem? because No error logs record.
log record is also a permanent replacement. you can not see the error log too.
I hope you understand.



when I switch to a section on the facebook, dsl connection goes completely. (modem restarting..)
i'm cleaning the temp folders. i would try again, in the same place, same problem.
there is nothing in the log records. have you ever seen such a problem?
do not say there is virus. no virus, there is only me & ZyXEL and internet.

Hi.
You'd try to force the speed of your NIC instead of leave it to autosense the router's speed.
In Advanced Properties of your NIC you can change Media Type value to anything other than Autosense/Autodetect, that must be avoided.
In P660HW-T1 this can be done from router side, but not in your model, i think.

I got the same issue.

First I installed PHP-MySQL-MyAdmin package from the package management.
Then I created folder "web" in shares
Then I made folder "web" public and I published this folder for Web.
I put index.php into this folder with PHP code.

But only pure HTML code is visible. The PHP code is not parsed and displayed.

Does anybody knows the solution?

This is due to the settings of the router's ARP table, which stores associations IP -> MAC for only 300 seconds.

So to make the WOL is necessary to have this association, which can always be added at any time via telnet.

Unfortunately on my router (P660-HN-F1Z) when there is no way (that I know of) to change the timeout of the ARP table or to ensure that the association never expire.

Some useful commands (running on P660-HN-F1Z):

ip arp status --> displays the ARP table
ip arp add <IP> ether <MAC> --> to add an association IP --> MAC

I Council also to add the file associations ARP autoexec.net the router, so after the router starts, the associations remain active until the computer is not turned on and then off.

Ping to a host on the LAN behind the USG from a host at the remote site results in a "From 192.168.1.1 icmp_seq=259 Destination Host Unreachable" (192.168.1.1 being the USG300)

traffic from the LAN behind the USG to the remote site does arrive (there is a policy route in the USG for this)

all my interfaces are in "general" mode and i have my own trunk defined (not using SYSTEM_DEFAULT)

The configuration is to default, without any strange settings.
If I try to send a big attachment in e-mail, the mail client stop the sending end return "timeout error"

Other info and specs:
1) I tried using both OUTLOOK Express and Thunderbird Mozilla... same result
2) I tried to bypass the USG100 by connect the ADLS router directly = The SMTP works fine
3) I tried to use different eth port... same result
4) the little attachment is working fine.....
5) the "progressive bar" of the e.mail client proceed not linearly.... it sputter....
6) the timeout error appear immediately not after a time.... it seems it is not a real timeout but a loosing connection
7) with the same e-mail, the error appear not at the same time/% .... it is random and it is not related to a specific length.

I saw on your beta site that you have a USG 50 posted. When will we see this coming? It will fit my needs perfectly. The USG 100 is too expensive and security package is too expensive for me and I would assume the USG 50's would be more affordable as a unit and the security package would have a more reasonable price too.. This would be a perfect replacement for my Zywall 2 Plus.

My new ZyWALL SSL 10 works fine but some topics are not well explained:

- Can a self-signed certificate be used for Client Certification Authentication? Or do I have to buy certficates from 3rd-party CAs?

- When I try to create a new Self-Signed certificate to replace the default certificate created by the unit, it complains that there is already a self-signed cert. present. I cannot delete this because it is Default. I cannot stop it being default because there is no other cert. present to make Default! This is a circular problem.

Your help with these questions would be much appreciated.

I have the following problem:

I have the zyxel router 660HW at my house in Italy, but I am in Germany now. There is a webcam connected to the router and this has been working well all the last 2 years. (not continuously of course, I gave the router some off-time.)

However, for one week now I cannot access my webcam with the DynDNS alias. That means, that the dynamic IP address has not been forwarded to DynDNS.

Now, a friend went to my house and used his wifi notebook to connect from outside the house (he has no keys for the house).

He could connect to the router with telnet or the web configurator. WE made a reset through the diagnostics page of the web configurator and we checked the router. LAN has passed, but WAN was not available.

Now, HOW could I reset the Internet connection or see what's going on with the line from outside?

He could connect to the router so I think all is fine. The Internet connection should work, the provider says all is fine.

any idea what we can try now? And HOW can I figure out the dynamic IP address used in the router config? IF I can connect to the Internet, I can see it of course, but where is the dynamic IP in the router setup?

Please tell me what to do now, I want to see my camera back!
